RealityCreator

The “RealityCreator” transforms 2D motion and still pictures into 3D

The RealityCreator provides depth maps for 2D motion and still pictures.

The RealityCreator is used to generate depth information for 2D motion or still pictures. See our tutorial video.

The depth map includes the depth information for all objects in the image and is the base for the creation of your desired number of views, being 2 for stereosocpic (glasses-based) 3D, or 5 to 9 for autostereoscopic (glasses-free) 3D applications.

The level of depth corresponds with the shade of grey. The operator sets key frames, selects the appropriate depth scenario and adjusts the settings to fit his image. Several scenarios are provided, e.g. a tunnel module for corridor‐like scenarios or a horizon‐module for landscapes. These raw depth‐prototypes are then filtered to a depth map that takes the objects and structures into account. A motion module is also available.

Separate timelines for all modules help to control the scenario selection for the key frames. To assess the generated depth information, a real-time preview is available.
